A smile is such a little thing; and yet, it can posses a great power. It seems as though many people begin to smile less and smile smaller as they age. Think of children. They have no fear of people watching them when they are happy. Their smiles bubble over into an infectious laugh, a laugh which causes those around to respond in like.
I think when it comes to laughter and joy, when it comes to smiling, we need to be more like children. Instead of acting stoic, we should have a good laugh. Our faces and abs should hurt from laughing so hard.
Proverbs 17:22 “A merry heart doeth good like a medicine: but a broken spirit drieth the bones.”.Smiling can encourage and lead to real joy, and having that joy, a merry heart, can lead to better health.
So go ahead and smile. Let out a laugh. Experience joy like a child.
Happy Valentine’s Day! Find someone who needs a bit of joy and send a smile or note of encouragement their way.
